World Cup: Super Eagles will fly high if… -Dr. Oni Okpaku

Dr. Benjamin Aigbobasimi Oni-Okpaku, the former Chief Medical Director(CMD) of the defunct Benoni Clinic/Hospital, Benin City, has said that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will perform creditably at the 2018 World Cup coming up in Russia in a couple of weeks.
However, the octogenarian asserted that they can only achieve success if all departments of the team learn to play in a well coordinated way.
“My advice to the Super Eagles handlers is that they should ensure that the team is blended and the players play in a well coordinated way.
“The boys have been playing together for a while so by now I am certain that they understand themselves that as an essential ingredient that they need to soar at the World Cup.
“Another thing that the Super Eagles have to their advantage is that they are relatively young. From record the players are  young and this is a good thing. They seem to be the youngest of all the teams that will compete in Russia.”
On the performance of the World cup bound team in their friendly match with DR Congo at the Adokiye Amesiemeka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Monday, May 28, the octogenarian, a sports enthysiast, who was a goalkeeper in his days as a student of the prestigious Kings College, Lagos, said that many of the boys who were fielded for the match were new faces in the team and as such were yet to blend with the other players thus the minor errors they were committing on the field of play.
