...Renamed NPA road to Industry road

The governor of Rivers State Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike yesterday said the inability of Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) to contribute to the newly commissioned 1.3 kilometer road linking NPA attest the fact that the agency is sabotaging Rivers economy.
Governor Wike disclosed this in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital while commissioning and flagging off projects initiated and executed by his administration in his one year in office.
He said NPA was among the stakeholders he met when he came into power to discuss on what they could contribute under partnership arrangement to fix the NPA road but the agency refused to contribute anything to the road project.
The governor who renamed the NPA road to Industry road said the era where projects were being politicizes are gone, adding that this is the era to deliver government promises with the aim to improve the living standard of the people.
He thanked the residents of the various areas where the projects were commissioned for supporting the government by giving the contractors the opportunity to deliver on time.
Some of the projects commissioned include, Njemanze –Abonnema Wharf road, the access/inter-link road in Borikiri, Industry road, flagging off Port Harcourt Pleasure Park and the ground laying of Ecumenical worship centre.
The project commissioning and flag off continues tomorrow till Saturday
