Governor of Rivers state, Barrister Nyesom Wike has approved the appointment of Mr. Vincent Nemebioka as the new Liaison Officer for the Rivers State Liaison Office in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The appointment which was announced on Wednesday June, 24 by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah was with immediate effect.
Mr. Nemebioka, a former Commissioner for Commerce and Industry and former Vice Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has since assumed his new office in Abuja.
His appointment, according to the Governor’s spokesperson was to facilitate a smooth interface between Rivers state government and the federal institutions in Abuja.
The new Liaison Officer is a graduate of Political Science and Administrative Studies at the University of Portharcourt and also studied Law at University of Burkinham, United Kingdom.
A holder of Masters Degree in Maritime Law from South Hampton University, the new Rivers state Liaison Officer was also at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja where he just finished the mandatory course.
Mr. Nemebioka who is an Alumnus of Lagos Business School is also a Nigerian scholar at UNESCO Institute of Live Long Learning , Hamburg, Germany.
Before his appointment, he was the Acting Director of Department of Social Mobilisation at the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
He was also the Deputy Director and Head of Department, Partnership and Mobilisation at the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-formal Education (NMEC)
While in Rivers states he served On the Board of Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation and was also the state Coordinator of Obasanjo Campaign team.
He is also a Chartered Mediator and married with three children.
