Despite the media frenzy, Musical stars Wande Coal (Wande Ojosipe), Tuface (Innocent Idibia) and Wizkid (Ayo Balogun) did not perform at the successful DKM concert staged by international act – Dbanj (Dapo Oyebanji).

The show, tagged ‘D’ King’s Men‘ was staged at Eko Hotel and Suites in the evening of Sunday June 23 2013. It recorded massive fans attendance and alluring performances from Olamide, Naeto C, Phyno,  KCEE, DJ Zeez, Sean Tizzle, Dbanj, his younger brother Kay Switch and others.

Our checks revealed a lack of proper business arrangement made big expectations such as Tuface, Wizkid and Wande Coal to miss out of the performances.

“There wasn’t a concrete business arrangement between organisers of the show and the managers of the artistes,” an insider revealed.

While Tuface used the cover of attendance at an industry-night function in America as an excuse, both Wande Coal and Wizkid didn’t bother to come up with any.

Wizkid attended the show as ‘just’ another guest, while Wande Coal, who just returned from a Star Trek performance in Owerri, Imo State  a day  before did not ‘bother’ to show up.

He is signed to rival label, Marvin Records with Dbanj’s estranged friend and business partner, Don Jazzy (Collins Ajere) as head man.

The expectation was that Wande Coal‘s performance at Dbanj‘s concert would officially signal an end to perceived rift between the two factions.

The DKM Concert served as launch of Dbanj‘s DB Records debut compilation album – ‘D’Kings Men’
