The Army has said that two suspected Boko Haram terrorists fell into the ambush of Army troops deployed at Forward Operation Base Mainok laid for insurgents along a track route leading to Alagarno forest.
Sani Usman, Director of Army Public Relations and a Brigadier General said in a statement that the suspects were ferrying logistics items to their colleagues before they were arrested in the early hours of the day.
“The ambush team neutralized two Boko Haram terrorists and recovered their weapons; two motorcycles, jerry cans and grounded guinea corn.” He said
He added that troops of 151 Battalion, 21 Brigade Nigerian Army, on a routine clearing of bushes to aid unhindered movement of troops discovered multiple Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
Usman said the troops successfully disconnected and recovered the IEDs which were connected together.
The explosive devices, according to him, were said to have been laid on the shoulder of the road at a suspected terrorist ambush site at Banki Junction, Bama in Borno State.
