Traders in Port Harcourt have congratulated Governor Chibuike Rotimi Ameachi over the inauguration of Town Market located at Creek Road Port Harcourt.
The ultra modern market inaugurated on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital is first of its kind with facilities like fire service, police station, sick-bay and conference hall.
Reacting after the commissioning of the market, the traders said the new market has relieved them of the stress of shading goods on the road especially during the raining season.
Mr. Benson Ngele, who represented the traders during the unveiling of the market said: “We Thank God for using Governor Chibuike Amaechi to change the status of traders through the facilities provided in the market.
“For this we are grateful and will continue to support this administration to provide more for traders as the commissioning of the market has ended our many years of suffering and street trading,” he said.
Rivers Commissioner for Works Victor Giadom who commissioned the market on behalf of Governor Chibuike Amaechi said: “It has been our joy to provide for the people of Rivers State in line with the commitment of Governor Chibuike Amaechi administration. We decided to provide a first class market for the people of the state.”
