The board of directors of Total Nigeria Plc today announced the resignation of Mr. Stanislas Mittelman as the chairman of the board of the company. The information was made available by the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Tuesday, in Lagos.
Meanwhile, Mr. Momar Nguer has been appointed as the new chairman of the board. According to the announcement, the appointment of Nguer as the board chairman took effect from Thursday, 15th November, 2012.
Mr. Nguer, born in Thies (Senegal) is Diploma Graduate of ESSEC Business School before obtaining Master’s Degree in Law. He first worked with Hewlett Packard France, Finance Department between 1982- 1984 before moving to Total Africa between 1984 and 1985, holding different positions within the African sub Region.
Mr. Nguer worked in different capacities in the company in Senegal, Cameroun and Kenya. He was the CEO, Total Cameroon Marketing Subsidiary between 1995 –1997 and CEO Total Kenya between 1997 and 2000. Mr. Nguer rose to the position of Executive Vice President Total East Africa and Indian Ocean Total’s Refining and Marketing Division between 2000 and 2007 and Vice President Aviation Fuel from 2007-2011.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Momar Nguer was the Senior Vice President Africa/Middle East at Total Supply and Marketing, Member of Total Group Management Committee.
