The Borno state Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Borno state has insisted that politicians amassing Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) are wasting their time.
INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), for the state, Prof. Tukur Sa’ad who said this on Sunday in Maidugurinoted that their actions will count for nothing as the it actions was unnecessary.
There has been an exchange of allegations by the two major parties, All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that PVCs were stolen or bought off card holders.
Prof.Sa’ad explained that stealing or hijacking PVCs will not give advantage to any political party during the elections.
He said: “Well, I have not heard the information on the alleged stealing or hijacking of PVCs by politicians in Borno. But if that is true, it is an exercise in futility.”
