Show Concern For The Poor, Pope Francis Urges Trump

As President Donald Trump replaces Barak Obama as President of the United States of America, Pope Francis on Friday enjoined him to be guided by the rich spiritual and ethical values that have shaped the history of the American people and their commitment to the advancement of human dignity and freedom.

In a letter to mark Trump’s inauguration on Friday, the Pope prayed that the new administration, the stature of the United States would “continue to be measured above all by its concern for the poor, the outcast and those in need who like Lazarus, stand before our door.”

He prayed for the Almighty God will grant the 45th President the wisdom and strength in the exercise of the high office.

“At a time when our human family is beset by grave humanitarian crises demanding far-sighted and united political responses, I pray that you decisions will be guided by the rich spiritual and ethical values that shaped the history of the American people and your nation’s commitment to the advancement of human dignity and freedom worldwide.”

He prayed divine blessings of peace, concord and every material and spiritual prosperity on President Trump and his family, as well as the beloved people of America
