Senate Suspends Former Leader Ndume for 181 Legislative days

Nigerian Senate has suspended Senator Ali Ndume, a former Senate Leader, for 181 legislative days over his failure  to conduct proper investigation before his allegations’ against Senator Dino Melaye in his Certificate forgery saga  and Senator Bukola Saraki’s alleged bullet-proof car.

This followed a deliberation on the report submitted by its Chairman, Committee on Ethics and Privileges, Senator Samuel Anyanwu during Wednesday plenary.

The Committee’s report indicated that Senator Dino Melaye graduated from Ahmadu  Bello University and passed his courses; He graduated in the year 2000; He was presented his results and participated in the National Youth Service Corp NYSC.

The Suspension is expected to begin  today, 29th Match, 2017 and would last for 181 legislative days.

Senator Jibrin Barau who commented on the development, said: “When we see anything against another senator, we must bring it to the floor of the Senate before making hurtful statement”.
