Rivers Vigilante Group Arrests Suspected Armed Robber

Men of Diobu Vigilante Volunteer Group (DVVG) in Rivers State have arrested suspected leader of three man armed robbery squad allegedly specialized on house to house robbery in Port Harcourt and its environs.

 The suspect, Chibeze Nwozuzu who said he hailed from Obowo in Imo State was arrested along Azikiwe Street, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt after robbing his victim, Mr. Emmanuel Sunday with his gang members who later escaped arrest.

Briefing The post yesterday, the chairman, DVVG Mr. Victor Ohaji  said when the suspect was arrested he confessed that he is the leader of the  gang that had escaped arrest when they sighted the vigilante group coming.

He said the suspect when arrested was in possession of N 30,000,  x3 Samsung galaxy which the vigilante group  handed over to the Mile 1 Police station, including the suspect.

He noted that before the suspect was handed over to Mile 1 police station he pleaded to be a good person if the DVVG would have mercy on him, adding that his men will do anything possible to arrest the remaining gang members who escaped arrest if they failed to repent.

He called on the residents of Port Harcourt and Rivers State in general to always report suspicious movement within their vicinity as to end criminality in the State.
