Suspected vandal have attacked the offices the State Accountant General and the Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Finance.
The Commissioner of Finance, who inspected the damage on Wednesday condemned the evil act, adding that the Commissioner some suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation.
“I want to commended security personnel in the Ministry for their prompt response to the incident. We condemned the unholy act especially the level of destruction in the offices, though appropriate security measures would be put in place,” he said.
“With what has happened, I will advice the entire staffs to be more alert and security conscious to forestall similar incident in future,” he said.
On how the vandal got to the office of the Accountant General, the Commissioner said: “ A young man of about 21 years old arrived the ground floor of Block C, forced his way into the building and went to the office of the Accountant General.
“He destroyed the glass door but was unable to break through and so moved to the 2nd floor, office of the Permanent Secretary and caused extensive damage to the building and equipment.”
