Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu has called on West African Examination Council, WAEC, to simplify its registration processes to give opportunity to every child.
The Minister stated on Monday when he played host to a delegation of WAEC Governing Council members led by Evelyn Kandakai, who were on a courtesy visit to his office.
Also the Minister said that the examining body should consider downward review of fees being charged, noting that there have been complaints from parents of their inability to register their children/wards for its examination due to high cost of registration.
Speaking in the same vein, Minister of State for Education, Anthony Anwukah commended WAEC for its contribution to the development of education in Nigeria and other four member countries – Ghana, Gambia, Sierra-Leone and Liberia.
He called on the Chairperson of the Governing Council, Evelyn Kandakai, to use her position as a role model to the Girl-Child.
Kandakai in her remarks, acknowledged Nigeria’s outstanding contributions to WAEC, noting that such support has greatly sustained the examination body over the years.
