Petrol Sold At Official Rate In Only 13 States In October- NBS

Latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics Monday, says only Nigerians in 14 of the 36 states bought Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) or petrol at the official pump price of N135 and N145 per litre in October.

On the average, nationwide, the report put average price per litre at N145.90, a drop from N146.30 in September and N147.30, in the previous month.

The states include: Adamawa, Bauchi, Delta, Edo, Ekiti, Gombe, Katsina, Kwara, and Lagos, Others are Ogun, Ondo, Oyo and Sokoto.

The NBS identified Yobe as the state with the highest average prices at N150 per litre; followed by Nassarawa, N148, just like Abia; while Osun had the lowest average price of N144.30 per litre; ahead of N144.60 Delta and Peteau, N144 each.

In the month of October, automotive gas oil diesel sold at an average price of 187.25 per litre; from N192.69 in September and N196.53 in August.

The highest average prices was in Kwara, where it sold at N193; just as Ekiti; while it sold at N193 in Imo; while the lowest price was in Plateau, where it sold at N175; followed by Abuja and Adamawa, N180; and Ondo, N181.

Within the review period also, kerosene sold at an average of N293 nationwide; up from N288 per litre in September.

In Abia, kerosene was sold at N299 per litre; Abuja, N297; Adamawa, N292; Akwa Ibom, N281, just like Gombe; Niger recorded N243, the lowest for the period; followed by Oyo, N255 per litre; Kebbi recorded N260; Benue N261 per litre; and Anambra, N274. Sokoto recorded the highest price at N375 per litre; followed by Taraba, N371; Yobe, N354; and Enugu, N335 per litre.
