The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated a seven-man National Disciplinary Committee to ensure discipline among party members across the federation.

Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, the National Chairman of the party, inaugurated the committee headed by Dr. Umaru Dikko.

He said that the choice of the committee members was painstakingly made with due consideration of their pedigree and love for discipline and the party.

Tukur stressed that Dikko was picked as chairman of the committee because of his uncompromising stance as it relates to discipline.

He said that Dikko’s love for the rule of law and defence of democracy in the country during the military era was also considered before he was picked.

He thanked the committee members for accepting to serve in the committee and expressed optimism that their effort would yield the desired discipline the party yearned for.

Tukur called on all who believe in democracy and discipline to support the committee members to actualise their objective.

Dikko, who spoke on behalf of members of the committee, thanked the party for the confidence reposed on them.

He said that the committee would do everything that was needed to move the party forward and ensure discipline among party members.
