Panic As Cultists Strike Again, Kills Two, Abducts Lecturer, Daughter In Rivers

SUSPECTED cultists on the wee hours of Tuesday killed two persons simply identified as Emma and Dele in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

This was happening barely three days after youths in Omoku announced their resolve to go after anyone who engages in killing, kidnapping as well as any politician who would want to arms youths in the area for his political ambition.

A source disclosed that the victims were murder at their residents around Ahoada road in Omoku at about 11p.m.

The source, who leaves close to the compound where Emma and Dele were assassinated narrated that the assassins released several gunshots during the operation, adding that the shooting caused panic in the area.

The source noted that about three hours after the operation that some of the close neighbors came out to discover the remains of the two victims.

It was gathered that security operatives have visited the scene of the incident and have ordered that the remains be deposited at the mortuary while investigations commence into the killings.

In a related development, a senior lecturer at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku, Isaac Messiah, and his daughter have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Messiah and his daughter were kidnapped at his residents, around Lagos Avenue along Ogboo road in Omoku, headquarters of ONELGA.

A source from the community who confirmed the incident to our correspondent said the suspected kidnappers stormed the residents of the victims by 1:00p.m. Monday with a Camery Toyota and took the duo to an undisclosed destination.

Effort to reach the Rivers State Police Public Relations officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni was unsuccessful.

But a senior police officer who pleaded anonymity also confirmed the incident and told our correspondent that the police were hinted after the kidnappers had left.
