One of Nigeria’s prominent freight forwarders, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite has made his intention known to vie for the position of the Chairman of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMIA) Chapter.
Otunba Ogunojemite, who is a Principal Partner at British Standard Nigeria Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading freight forwarding outfits, with vast international connections has promised to bring his years of experience as a freight forwarder to bear, by significantly enhancing the welfare of NAGAFF members at the airport, if given the mandate to serve.
The public declaration to herald his campaign was held last Thursday 14th December, 2017 at NAGAFF secretariat at the Airport. The carnival-like event attracted the who-is-who in NAGAFF including the founder of the association, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, Chief Chidebere (BOT Chairman), Barrister Akhokhai, Mr. Idrees Mohammed, Mr. Elihu Eshiet, the out-going Chairman Dr. Segun Musa, electoral chairman Mr. Okey Nerus and a huge crowd of supporters across all the ethnic groups.
Speaking during the flag-off Ogunojemite promised that his tenure will focus on improving the welfare of members and making the association more prominent and better recognised in Nigeria. He promised to run the association with the same level of energy and zest with which he was able to build his business into a leading outfit in the sector/
“I have decided to come into the race because of the hunger to serve NAGAFF Airport community. I decided to be Chairman, not because I want to rule, but because I want to serve. So, during my time we are going to establish cooperatives for the welfare of members, we’ll also have healthcare benefits for members’ family,” he said.
Ogunojemite enjoys huge support among the members and leadership of NAGAFF and this was reflected in the huge turnout at the flag-off and the presence of NAGAFF founder who seldom attends such event.
Speaking at the public declaration, Aniebonam, who is a frontline freight forwarder and the Chairman of New Nigerian People’s Party, stressed the need for aspirants to play by the electoral rules established by NAGAFF, he also said that the association will not condone slanderous behaviors or mudslinging during the campaign.
