A group,  Ogoni Youth Movement yesterda rejects the results from Rivers South-East and  called for the cancellation of the Re-run elections in Khana Local Government Area of the State.

It would be recalled that the results declared by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showed that All Progressives Congress (APC) is leading in the Rivers South-East.

The group alleged that the exercise was marred by irregularities and orchestrated violence by APC   against members of the PDP in Khana LGA.

Speaking yesterday during a protest in Ogoni, the National Coordinator, Comrade Ferry Gberegbe, said the undemocratic conduct and irregularities experienced in all the polling units in Khana Local Government Area made it necessary for Ogoni youth to call for outright cancellation of the polls.

Gberegbe who had earlier condemned the arrest of PDP leaders in Ogoni axis at the eve of the rerun election said some units in ward 17 of Khana Local government area and other wards in the area were either mar by irregularities or the people were not given the opportunity to vote.

He noted that Ogoni youths will not accept the declared results in the area, adding that the youth will go to any length to ensure that the result would be rejected.

He said: “We are calling for the cancellation of the December 10, 2016 legislative election in Khana Local government area following the non release of results sheets to most wards in Khana and massive use of men of the Nigeria Army and Special Anti Robbery Squad to hijack electoral materials.

“We will continue to protest on this result declared in Rivers South East particularly in Khana local government where there is a day robbery. We have evidences of the irregularities that took place in the rerun election in Ogoni.”
