NSE Investors Lose N178.22bn In Three Days
The bear market continued deeper into the seventh straight week, losing all of N178.228 billion in three consecutive days, during which the benchmark All Share Index lost 517.74 basis points or 1.97%.
At the close of Wednesday’s trading session, market capitalisation or investors’ wealth fell by N70.197 billion or 0.78%, just as the index shed 203.92 points or 0.78%, as the day’s 33 laggards easily overpowered the six gainers.
The decliners were led in absolute terms by carbonated soft drinkers marketers- 7-Up Bottling Company, which lost N13.98 per share or 9.74%; followed by Nestle Nigeria’s N14.97 or 1.84%; Forte Oil lost N6.98 or 7.43%; and Flour Mills, 94 kobo or 4.98%.
The gainers were led by International B’reweries’ 89 kobo or 4.68%; Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, 19 kobo or 2%; and Union Bank, 14 kobo or 3.37%.
