The headquarters of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) was on Wednesday morning engulfed in a fire. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be ascertained.
The building is located at 4, Burma Road, Apapa, Lagos. The Post understands that rescuers and fire fighters were deployed and battled to put out the fire. Calls to MNIMASA public relations office were unanswered.
Only recently, men of NIMASA working with the Nigerian Navy arrested a French registered vessel that was involved in bunkering. The cartel behind the bunkering said to have been costing Nigeria more that N20 billion a week has been pressing buttons to sweep the investigations under the carpet
