The Federal Government on Wednesday said it would partner with Czech Republic on how to upgrade Youth Development Centres across the country to make them more independent.
The Minister of Youth Development, Mr Boni Haruna, made the assertion in Abuja when he received the Czech Republic Ambassador to Nigeria, Pavel Mikes.
“There are potential that are embedded in the relationship between Czech Republic and Nigeria.
“The Czech Republic has paid their dues in terms of industrial development.
“As a developing nation, we are eager to partner with you in terms of youth development and other avenues that will help to create jobs for our youths,” he said.
Haruna said the country could benefit from Czech Republic through the technologies and know-how that would make youths productive by adding value to the national development.
Earlier, the Ambassador said that opportunities abound in his country in which Nigeria could benefit from.
He said that Czech Republic was interested in training Nigerian youths, adding that the visit was to discuss possible opportunities to achieving that.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Nigerian-Czech Trade Investment Council, Alhaji Dahiru Mohammed, has said that “if we empower the youths, we empower the nation and the future.
“The embassy and council is determined to partner with the ministry to achieve that,’’ he said.
