National Conference moves end date to July 31

nigeria-senateThe ongoing National Conference in Abuja has been extended for six weeks.
The conference will now end on July 31st 2014 instead of the earlier June 19th, 2014 the talk shop was programmed to last.
A new work plan released by the leadership of the conference said that the National Conference has been adjusted following inputs from the Leadership of the Conference.
According to the work plan obtained by our correspondent, Monday 21st-Thursday 24th July had been devoted to consideration of draft report of the conference.
Week 20 Monday 28th-Thursday July 31st will be for production and signing of the final report.
No reason was given for the extension of the conference but some delegates spoken to hinted that “we still have a lot of areas uncovered.”
But some delegates had earlier warned that the leadership of the conference should avoid the temptation of extending the conference.
Those who were against extending the conference feared that extension of the conference was likely to eat into the 2015 general elections
