The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said that there was no plan to retire senior officers alleged to be connected with the ongoing investigation of arms purchase under the immediate past administration.
Reacting to a report published by New Telegraph newspaper of Monday 13 June 2016 titled “Arm Scandal: Air Force to retire AVMs, Commodores”, NAF refuted the story as unfounded which did not from its headquarters.
The publication alleged that the NAF is at the verge of retiring a number of senior officers connected with the ongoing investigation of arms purchase under the immediate past administration.
A statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by the NAF Director of Public
Relations and Information, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa urged journalists to always confirm their story with the NAF before publication.
The newspaper had reported that NAF would soon sack some of its senior over their indictment in the 2.1billion dollars arms procurement scandal and other corruption related offences.
It said NAF has already compiled the list of the senior officers to be given the boot, in the coming days.
