Paul Obiajunwo, Port Harcourt

A team of Christian mothers under the aegis of Wailing Women Worldwide,( WWW) yesterday disclosed that they are seeking the face of God against cultism, kidnapping and other corrupt activities in the state.

The women, who spoke in Port Harcourt during the 17th International Conference of the organization holding in Etche Local Government Area of the state noted that it is only God’s intervention that would restore peace in Rivers state.

The theme of the program was , ‘Thy Kingdom Come and Thy Will be Done’

Speaking, Head, International Coordinator, WWW Dr. (Mrs.) Laide Okafor, stressed the need for women to travail in prayers and intercession against the prevailing social vices in the state, adding that criminality is ungodly.

Okafor said: “All these can be stemmed when the spirit of God comes in the land, when men’s hearts are transformed. Those people that cause problems in the society do not know the lord. These are things that God will help us to achieve.

“We want God to be pleased with Rivers State because there are many things that need to be changed and one of them is corruption and the spirit of insecurity in the land. There are a lot of killing here and there especially the issue of cultism and kidnapping.

“It is an apostolic move of God and it was birth as a result of the crisis situation in Nigeria in 1998 and God called for the women to cry for the situation in the country. God desires that what is done in heaven, the same pattern is brought to earth. God we will use us to bring down his will on earth.”
