Mob Set Woman Ablaze Over Refusal To Be Searched


A irate crowd has set ablaze a woman for refusing to submit herself for security check at the Muda Lawal Market in Bauchi.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the incident said that “information at our disposal revealed that a yet to be identified Lady, who allegedly refused to allow herself to be screened at the entrance of Muda Lawal Market Bauchi was attacked by irate mob who took law into their hands and set her ablaze. As a result, she died on the spot before rescue could come”.

Police said a second suspect, also a teenage girl, was also arrested.

But some witnesses have expressed doubt whether they teenage girl was a bomber.

Mohammed said Police patrol teams including Explosive disposal unit rushed to the scene, dispersed the rampaging crowd and restored normalcy in the Area.

He said the  case is under investigation and intensive patrol is ongoing in the Area in order to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent further breakdown of law and order.

Mohammed said  the Command warned members of the public against taking laws into their hands as anyone arrested will face the full wrath of the Law.
