Ministry of Education Agog As Adamu Adamu Resumes Duty

It was jubilation on Thursday as  members of staff of Federal Ministry of Education trooped out to welcome  the newly appointed Minister of Education, Professor Adamu Adamu who made a brief appearance at the Ministry.

Workers of the Ministry rushed out from their respective duty posts when the Minister arrived the Federal Secretariat Complex at about 3:20pm.

The Minister who was accompanied by some of his political associates including former Executive Secretary, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr. Ahmed Modibbo was received by the immediate former Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajia Hindatu Abdullahi who led other senior staff of the Ministry in welcoming him.

He was ushered into his office at about 3:25pm where prayers were offered both in Christianity and Islamic ways.

The Minister however said he came to inspect the office noting that he would resume fully on Tuesday, November 17 in which he would have a meeting with management staff of the Ministry.

He also declined to talk to journalists insisting that he just came to inspect his office.

Speaking journalists after the departure of the Minister, Hajia Abdullahi who is also the Ministry’s Director, Tertiary Education said the staff were happy to receive the Minister.

She said they were ready to work with the Minister to help drive the Change agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

Her words: ” You can see the mood here, not only the staff, the management staff here are also happy. We are ready to work with the Minister to drive the Change agenda of the President.

Everybody is happy now. We will sit down and hit the ground running with the Minister”

This was as members of staff of the Ministry were also jubilating saying ” now, work go start”.

It would be recalled that President Buhari had on Tuesday approved the appointment of new Permanent Secretaries for Federal Ministries.
