President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has lamented the death of the Third Republic’s Deputy Senate President, Senator Albert Legogie, describing him as a thorough breed legislator who made immense contributions to national development.
Senator Mark in a condolence message to the Edo State government, the immediate family of the deceased, members of the Upper legislative House in the Third Republic and members of the National Assembly in general said, late Legogie was a legislature par excellence.
He noted with nostalgia the robust contributions of the Third Republic Deputy Senate President and his quest for good governance.
Senator Mark said: “We are pained at the news of the death of our senior colleague in the Senate. He served Nigeria at the emerging era of our democracy.
“His contributions in the Upper legislative House were unparalleled. He lived a life full of services to humanity. He will be remembered as one of the hero of our young democratic processes.” Senator Mark stressed.
The Senate President condoled with the family of the late former Principal Officer of the Senate urging them to see the late Senator Legogie’s death as the will of the Almighty God, which no man can challenge.
