Kinsmen to Amaechi: ‘Don’t Be Afraid’

Amaechi new

From Paul Obiajunwo, Port Harcourt

After few months of perceived silence over the Political crisis rocking Rivers State and the alleged threat the the life of Governor Chibuike Amaechi, his kinsmen under Ogbakor Ubima Consultative Assembly (OUCA) have assured him of God’s protection and described his detractors as jokers.

Amaechi hails from Ubima Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State and Ogbakor Ubima Consultative Assembly is the highest decision making body of his community.

The chairman of Ogbakor Ubima, Chief Anwuzuruike Daniel, who spoke yesterday in the midst of Chiefs and elders in-council at Ubima Community Town Square in Rivers State said being silent over the issue affecting their son should not embolden outsiders to take them for granted.

He said Governor Amaechi came from a great community that does not fear the threat of a visitor and will never be afraid as far as his hands are clean.

He said his attackers were desperate political jokers adding that the prayer of the members of the community will continue protect him.

A visibly angry Anwuzuruike said: “All we are saying is that he should not be afraid, we are solidly behind him and we are also witching the unfolding events in the state , I know God will not overlook  our prayers.

“The woman, youths, chief and elders including children of this community are praying for him and that is our happiness today, and the more reason why we kept quiet is because he has done nothing to deserve the orchestrated persecution by some politicians.

“We are very happy over his achievement for the past six years in office he had made the community, Ikwerre and Rivers State as a whole proud, especially his contribution to the development of Ubima community.”

Elder Sylvester Ehirim, the head of elders who spoke more in parable told Governor Amaechi’s rivals that, “wakugbu nwo-ewu wa mara nyewe-ah (when you kill unknown goat you will definitely know the owner), I will advise  politicians to channel their energy towards the development of  Rivers State rather than thinking on how to frustrate Amaechi.”
