Jimoh Ibrahim Applauds Ruling In Ondo PDP Appeal

The Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim campaign organisation, on Friday applauded the three-man special Appeal panel headed by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa set up to hear appeals filed against the factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Prince Biyi Poroye.
One of the suits is challenging the candidacy of Ibrahim who has been listed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the PDP gubernatorial candidate for the November 26 poll to elect a successor for Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.
Justice Saulawa ruled “that the appeal and sister appeals which were slated for ruling has been adjourned sine die (indefinitely) to await decision of the Supreme Court”.
Commenting on the ruling, the Jimoh campaign organisation, which belongs to the Ali Modu-Sheriff PDP faction, describe it as “a bold, moral and right action taken by the panel to adjourn sine die since the respondent in the suit, Prince Biyi Poroye had approached the Supreme Court to challenge the leave given to Eyitayo Jegede (candidate of the Ibrahim Makarfi PDP faction) to appeal the June 29, 2016 Judgment delivered by Justice Okon Abang of Federal High Court, Abuja which declared Prince Poroye as the authentic chairman of PDP in Ondo State.”
The judgement, the statement by Yemi Akintomide, Director of Media/Publicity of the faction in the state added, “has renewed our hope and believe in the judiciary as the last hope of common man; and put to shame desperate politicians who before now, thought that they could bride their way into the mentality and integrity of the judges.”
‎The statement expressed gratitude to the party’s faithful members and other leaders “who, against all odds, open intimidation and stiff sanction, stood with the Prince Poroye led State Exco up to this time; and also continue to support our candidate, Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim in his bid to get the votes of electorate in the state and emerge the winner of the November 26 poll.”
The faction also extended its hand of friendship to members of the other faction led by Eyitayo Jegede, urging them to join on the Jimoh Ibrahim campaign trail and be part-takers in the new Ondo State project.
“We will encourage Eyitayo Jegede and his supporters, the Clement Faboyede outlawed Exco members and other loyalists of the faction not to lose hope and stop the dancing steps they have prepared for today, the Aso Ebi already made for the ceremony  and the several cartons of assorted wines and beers in their refrigerators; all these can wait for a bigger celebration coming up on November 27 after INEC must have declared the PDP candidate as the winner of the gubernatorial poll. This is the right time for all of us in PDP family to celebrate our victory together.”
