Respite may have come for ailing actor, Pa Kasumu (Kayode Odumosu), following the offer by Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, to provide medical the much-needed treatment.
Insiders have disclosed that the governor, while offering the free treatment, is unwilling to make any monetary donation.
Reports of Governor Fashola promising to donate sums ranging from N2m and more to the needed N12m to take care of the treatment of the veteran actor recently circulated around town.
Our checks, however, revealed that the promise of monetary donation is not correct.
A source confirmed the true position with the clarification, ‘Gov Fashola saw Pa Kasunmu’s case on Channels Television and instructed his Aides to reach the Actor, he was reached and the Government house Doctors were given strict instructions to take him to a specialist and recommend what necessary treatment he requires. The Governor is a structured person, and due process is being followed to ensure Pa Kasunmu gets the best treatment.’
One of the confidante of the bedridden actor equally confirmed he has undergone some ‘tests’ based on the directive of the Lagos Governor.
Reports recently hit town that the veteran entertainer needed all of N12m in his battle with the ailment identified as ‘Heart and Liver disease’ to stay alive.
Details of his predicament were released by concerned parties as part of efforts to raise the needed fund.
But the intervention of Governor Fashola appears to have put the move to rest.
