The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says the camp of the home based Super Eagles will open on Oct. 17 in preparation for the 2014 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in South Africa.
A statement signed by Mr. Ademola Olajire, Media Officer of NFF in Abuja on Tuesday said Stephen Keshi, Head Coach of the senior national team, had invited 28 players to be at the Abuja camp.
It said the preparation would see the Super Eagles `Team B’ play an international friendly with the Jordanian national football team in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on Oct. 28.
The invited players include three goalkeepers, eight defenders, nine midfielders and eight strikers.
Ejike Uzoenyi, a former Super Eagles team `A’ regular who returned after a stint in France, is a pleasant surprise on the list.
Top on the list are the five members of his `A’ squad: goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, defenders Azubuike Egwuekwe, Solomon Kwambe and Benjamin Francis, as well as midfielder Sunday Mba.
There are Team `B’ regulars like goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, defenders Ebenezer Odunlami and Umar Zango, midfielder Etebo Oghene and forwards Miuhammad Gambo, Ifeanyi Edeh, Osadiaye Joseph and Ezekiel Mbah.
It is the first in a long list of international games that the NFF was putting together for the homeboys ahead of the CHAN.
The statement quoted President of the Federation Aminu Maigari as advising all invited 28 players to arrive at the team’s Bolton White Apartments in Abuja on Thursday Oct. 17 with their international passports.
It further said that visa processing for the trip to Amman, Jordan, would commence on Oct. 18, while the delegation was expected to leave on Oct. 25.
