Back Buhari anti-corruption crusade

A group, Transparency In Government Initiative (TGI), a network of anti Corruption campaign group has advised Nigerians to support the replacement of the Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) Ibrahim Magu for the sake of peace.
They said the public should disregard the comment of Femi Falana who railed against the National Assembly and the Department of State Services (DSS) for revealing what they described as a tip of the iceberg on the monumental corruption, extortion and impunity going on in the EFCC.
Speaking during a protest in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, Messers Chinedu Nwankwo, (Convener) Ogaba Ochefu (National Secretary) and Obaiton Musa (Publicity Secretary),maintained that it is unacceptable to ridicule the integrity of the Senate.
They noted that any attempt to ridicule or impugn the integrity of the Senate, the arm of Government that defines democracy will be an invitation to anarchy.
The group threatened to expose those who have corruptly benefited from various heads of the EFCC by acting as intermediary for massive rewards for interventions in high profile matters, on account of false perception.
The anti-corruption group said they are strongly in support of President Mohammadu Buhari’s commitment in fighting against corruption, alleging that a whole industry of corruption has grown around the EFCC under Magu.
Nwankwo said: “ Magu is not the only person in Nigeria, the presidency should replace him with immediate effect. We are in full support of the war against corruption and we are going expose all underhand dealings of some high profile individuals.
“One thing we believe is that corruption must be fought in keeping with the rule of law and due process, and through the nurturing of strong institutions and not by arbitrariness and impunity.
We frowned against the exploitation of the war for material gains and criminal gangs.
“We advise Falana and the likes of Prof. Itse Sagay to rather call for the resignation of Magu and setting up of a commission for a holistic investigation into the affairs of EFCC under the tenure of Ibrahim Magu.”
