Governor Wike swears in Three Caretaker Committee Chairmen

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on Friday   swore-in the Caretaker Committee Chairmen  of three Local Government Areas,  with a charge to them to support  ongoing  security  drive to rid the state  of  cultists.

Those sworn-in include: Hon. Gbara Erelo,  Caretaker Committee Chairman (Khana Local Government Area), Hon. Monday  Dum-Iye,  Caretaker Committee Chairman (Gokana Local Government Area) and Hon Adonye Kelly Diri,  Caretaker Committee Chairman  (Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area).

The governor said  that  the  Caretaker Committee Chairmen  have a responsibility  to  cooperate  with  security  agencies  to  build the security  architecture  of  their local  government  areas. 

He noted that any of the Caretaker Committee Chairman who fails to cooperate with  the  security  agencies  will lose his appointment. 

He said: “Make sure  you  cooperate with  the  security agencies to  flush out cultists.  We cannot allow the cultists  disturb the peace and security  of the  state.  Enough  is enough “.

The  governor  said  that  he has received  security  reports  which the security  agencies  will act upon as they relate to the sponsors of the cultists.

Governor Wike  noted that  any official  of the State Government  found  to be connected  to  the cultists  will be arrested and prosecuted.

The governor  directed the Caretaker Committee Chairmen  to ensure  that  the  pay monthly  salaries  regularly.
