The French Embassy in Nigeria will be holding the 6th edition of the French Education Fair on Monday the 12th of February 2018 at the National Universities Commission in Abuja between 10a.m. and 5p.m. and on Wednesday the 14th of February 2018 at the French School (Lycée Français Louis Pasteur) in Lagos, at the same time.
The event is conceived as an opportunity for Nigerians to meet with the best French Higher Education institutions coming to Nigeria and also improve relations between Nigerian Universities and their French counterparts.
The French Embassy remains committed to strengthening ties between France and Nigeria and education provides the perfect platform to do so. Many French Universities, through the development of English language programs, can now break the language barrier and accept more Nigerians to study a wide array of courses. Beyond just attracting more Nigerian students to study in France, the French mission in Nigeria is also creating partnerships between Nigerian and French Institutions to encourage exchange in not just knowledge but in students and faculty, thus creating richer programs that benefit all parties.
This year, the fair in Abuja will take the form of a round table with the following topics: How to increase the attractiveness of France for Nigerian pupils, students and professionals; How to develop new forms of cooperation between Nigerian institutions and French institutions.
The Lagos event on the other hand, will be a classic fair with a number of French Institutions represented, offering different courses taught entirely in English at the Bachelors, Masters and PhD levels. Both Fairs will be attended by at least 10 different French Universities and institutions of higher education including a representative of all French public universities, a French embassy representative, representatives of the network of French schools in Nigeria, the representatives of Campus France and more.
