Paul Obiajunwo, Port Harcourt

Former Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) ,  Prof. Rosmond Green- Osahogulu says she dragged the university to National  industrial court sitting in Yanagoa, Bayelsa State  to seek  interpretation of  the meaning of  administrative leave in civil service.

The Governor of Rivers State, Chief Eznwo Nyesom Wike in August 2015   directed the former Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Rosmond Green-Osahogulu to proceed on a compulsory and indefinite leave.

This was after the leadership of Academic Senior Staff of University (ASUU) allegedly accused the former VC of fake abduction claim after she was abducted by gunmen,   financial recklessness and other charges against her.

Briefing the press yesterday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, Prof. Osahogulu said she went to court to challenge the slashing of her entitlement by the current management of   the university.

In view of the demand by the new leadership of University to withdraw all University properties in her possession,   the former VC said she still has the privileges to continue to occupy the University apartment and drive the cars belonging to the university.

“I decided to allow the industrial court sitting in Bayelsa state to   interpret the meaning of administrative leave in civil service. Because I was only ask to proceed on compulsory leave and I was surprised that my entitlements have been slashed by the university without any reason giving.”

Acting Vice Chancellor, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Prof. Joseph Kinanee also  confirmed  the former VC action against the university.
