…warns mosques, churches, markets against fake aid workers

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Friday said it has uncovered fresh plans by the Boko Haram insurgents group to attack the nation’s capital again.
This was contained in a letter issued by the office of the FCT Minister and signed by Director of Security Services, Mohammed Mohammed dated November 23, 2015 a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent.
The letter titled ” Forwarding of Intelligence” was addressed to the National President of Jamat Nasir-Islam (JNI), National President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and General Manager , Abuja Market Management Limited (AMML).
It warned that the insurgents group was planning to carry out attacks on places of worship, such as mosques, churches and markets.
According to the content of the letter, religious leaders and residents of the nation’s capital were warned against the attacks in which young girls who are suicide bombers may disguise as aid workers at places of worship.
The letter reads in part ” Intelligence reaching this office revealed that insurgents are planning to attack the Federal Capital Territory. Their main targets are worship centers and markets with the use of young girls as members of aid groups to carry out their planned attacks.
It is in view of the foregoing that I’m directed to inform you to communicate the content of this letter to all mosques, churches and markets in FCT for extra vigilance particularly unknown persons dressing as aid workers loittering around the worship areas and markets”
This is coming less than two months that suicide bombers attacked Kuje and Nyanya areas of FCT leaving several people dead and many injured.
