Mr. Ebikeme Clark, son of Chief Edwin Clark, who was kidnapped on April 2 in Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta, has been released by his abductors.

“I cannot explain how it happened, but it was unpleasant. I was released by the grace of God; I was taken to an unknown destination in the creek,” Ebikme said on Sunday.

He said that he was released by his captors by midnight on Saturday.

The Police Public Relations Office (PPRO), Delta command, DSP Celestina Kalu, confirmed on Sunday that Ebikeme regained his freedom without the family paying any ransom.

Ebikeme’s abductors had demanded a ransom of N60 million from his family before he would be released.

“Clark was released at the early hour of today by his captors and no ransom was paid,” the Police PRO said on Sunday.

She said that one suspect apprehended in connection with the crime assisted the police with useful information.
