The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) on Monday in Abuja rescheduled its Week 14 matches in the Atlantic Conference of the ongoing DSTV Men’s Basketball Premier League.
A statement by Oluwafemi Adefeso on behalf of the federation’s Media Unit said the matches would now be played on Wednesday, June 11, instead of Friday, June 13.
According to the statement, the decision was as a result of the Jump Ball for the Zenith Bank Women Basketball League Final Eight Play-offs scheduled for June 13.
The play-offs of the women’s league is scheduled to hold from June 12 to June 22.
The matches will hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos which is the same venue for the DSTV Men’s league.
The Week 14 matches are the final regular season fixtures of the men’s league.
According to the statement, the change affected only the clubs in the Atlantic Conference as matches in the Savannah Conference will hold on June 13 as earlier scheduled.
The affected matches are Royal Hoopers versus Dodan Warriors to be played in Port Harcourt and Police Baton versus Oluyole Warriors in Lagos.
The other matches are Customs versus Lagos Islanders in Lagos and Kwara Falcons versus Union Bank in Ilorin.
The matches in the Savannah Conference are Niger Potters versus Mark Mentors in Minna and Bauchi Nets versus Plateau Peaks in Bauchi.
Others are Immigration versus Kada Stars in Kaduna and Gombe Bulls versus Kano Pillars in Gombe.
As at the end of Week 13 in the Atlantic Conference, Union Bank, Lagos Islanders and Dodan Warriors were tied in the first position with 22 points.
In the Savannah Conference, defending champions Kano Pillars stay atop with 25 points followed by Mark Mentors and Gombe Bulls who have 24 and 23 points respectively.
The top four placed teams from each conference shall qualify for final Eight Play-offs, while the teams placed last on the final league table from the two conferences would be relegated.
