The Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc on Sunday announced the appointment of Dr Joe Mekiliuwa, as its acting Managing Director, with effect from June 9, 2014.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Oscar Onyema, the company’s board chairman.
The statement stated that the company’s Managing Director, Mr Kyari Bukar, would proceed on a medical leave of absence.
Until the appointment, Mekiliuwa was a deputy General Manager and the Head of Operations of CSCS.”
Onyema said in the statement: “The board has a great deal of confidence in Mekiliuwa and the entire management team to manage the company’s operations until Bukar’s return.
He said that the CSCS would continue to meet the financial and safety objectives of the company, while maintaining great service to all its stakeholders.
Mekiliuwa, joined CSCS in 1997, as a pioneer staff member involved in the implementation of the CSD System (a security-based computer system), of the CSCS.
He has played strategic roles in many capital market initiatives and itheir mplementation.
The CSCS was incorporated on July 29, 1992, commissioned in April 1997 and commenced operations on April 14, 1997.
It operates a computerised depository, clearing settlement and delivery system for transactions on securities in the Nigerian capital market.
