Powerful show promoter and record label owner, Cecil Hammond, just lost another London returnee artiste on his label.
She is Seyi Shay.
This comes just a couple of months after Tiwa Savage (equally a London returnee) left Hammond’s platform for recently formed Marvin Records.
Like Tiwa, Seyi Shay refused to elaborate on the real reason for leaving.
Investigation, however, revealed that Seyi was actually brought on to fill the gap created by the departure of Tiwa but left Flytime promotions for same reason – limited exposure.
Insiders disclosed like her predecessor, she believes Hammond and his crew were not doing enough to push her music.
She left to achieve better rating, but refused to mirror Hammond and his Flytime in bad light because of the latter’s influence in the entertainment world.
The promoter holds the key to most of the big budget shows in the country at present.
