Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, has commended the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives for extending their free medical outreach to the Palace.
The commendation was given when the Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Federal Health Institution Sector, Mr. Wale Olatunde led other members of the association on a courtesy visit to the Oba of Benin.
Oba Ewuare II described the nursing profession as very noble and important in the life of mankind and urged them to always be patient with the sick in their hospitals.
The monarch said the Palace will still continue to work on security in order to stamp out all forms of criminality such as kidnapping, so that nurses can practice their profession without fear.
Chairman of National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Federal Health Institution Sector, Mr. Wale Olatunde told His Royal Majesty that they are in Benin City for their annual conference, and consider it very important to visit the Oba of Benin to solicit for royal blessings.
He expressed gratitude to Omo N’Oba for the support accorded members of the association, especially during their trying moments.
Mr. Olatunde commended His Royal Majesty for the reforms introduced in land acquisition and development as well as in conflict resolution, which he said has brought peace and tranquillity to the kingdom.
Meanwhile, in another development the family of music icon, Ambassador Osayomore Joseph, who recently gained his freedom after several weeks of captivity in kidnappers’ den, was also in the Palace to thank Oba Ewuare the second for the support and prayers to ensure the release of their son from captivity.
Mr. Jacob Ekenamionmwanse who led the delegation said the family members, children and wife of Ambassador Osayomore Joseph are grateful to the Oba of Benin, pointing out that the prayers and support received from His Royal Majesty was quite appreciated by them, hence they decided to come to personally express it to the Oba.
They however solicited for more support to enable Osayomore Joseph to completely regain full state of health.
