APC Leaders Angry Over Arrest, Killing Of Its Members In Rivers

The leaders of All Progressive Congress (APC) under the aegis of Concerned APC Members in Ikwerre Local government area of Rivers State has threatened to mobilize against the Rivers State government over continuous  arrest and killing of its members.  

The Forum,  In a Press briefing yesterday in PortHarcourt  which was led by Mr. Kerian Wobodo, APC Chieftain Chief Apolos Amadi, the Party Chairman in the area, Mr. Ben Odigwe and Mr. Best Amadi  in support of other APC leaders in the area also passed vote of confidence on the Minister of Transportation Mr. Chibuike Rotimi Amechi.  

Wobodo while addressing the press said, APC members in Rivers State particularly in Ikwerre Local government were unjustly arrested, killed and beheaded, adding that some aged parent and children are now homeless due to insecurity in some communities in the area

He called on the Rivers State commissioner of Police, CP Musa Kimo to immediately release his party members arrested before, during and after general and rerun election in Rivers State.

He said leaders of APC in Ikwerre Local government area will not rest untill theirs members in the police nets are released and those unjustly  killed are fully compensated  and rightly buried according to the tradition of Ikwerre land.

Wobodo said: “While we demonstrate our grievances over continuous killing of our people we want to inform the leaders of Rivers state People Democratic Party (PDP) that we are highly disappointed with their persisted attack on Mr. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, the Hon. Minister of Transportation.

“We want to reiterate our total and unalloyed support to Amaechi and we however, warn in the strongest terms that  we will not take it lightly with any person or group no matter how highly placed  who attempt to bring the name of Amaechi to the mod.”

“The present government in Rivers State should look into the insecurity in the state. Our members are being killed on daily basis, communities are at war, some deserted, traditional rulers are being chased away and nobody is addressing these issues, we will demonstrate against it”
