Only 10 out of 209 active stockbroking firms operating on the Nigerian Stock Exchange accounted for 69.58 per cent of value of stocks trade in April
Data obtained from the Exchange’s website showed that Greewish Trust Limited leads others in the value of stocks traded and volumes with 19.06 per cent and 58.29 per cent respectively.
The total volume of stocks exchanges by investors in the firm stood at 13.37 million worth N12.3 billion in the review period.
CSL Stockbrokers Limited followed with 855.7 million shares valued at N5.43, representing 3.73 per cent and 8.43 per cent respectively.
Rencap Securities Limited, Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited and FBN Securities exchanged 594.3 million, 548.8 billion and 510.5 billion shares respectively.
Others top 10 broking firms in terms of the volume of shares traded are EFCP Limited, APEL Asset Limited, United Capital Securities, Morgan Capital Securities Limited and Cardinalstone Securities Limited.
In terms of the value of shares traded, Rencap Securities accounted for N6.62 billion shares, while EFCP Limited traded shares worth N5.68 billion.
Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers exchanged N4.84 billion shares, representing 7.52 per cent, while FBN Securities traded N3.91 billion shares.
Others are Cardinalstone Securities Limited, Chapel Hill Denham Securities Limited, African Alliance Stockbrokers Limited and United Capital Securities Limited.
